The NYCO Youth Concerto Competition is an annual event held by the North York Concert Orchestra to support the development of young artists and to showcase budding talent by providing performance opportunities with the Orchestra.
Applications close at 11:59pm on May 3, 2026. The applicants will be advised by May 14 if they have been selected for the live performance on Sunday May 31, 2026. The winners of the competition will have the opportunity to perform a movement of a concerto or selected to perform a full concerto with the Orchestra on Saturday January 30, 2027, and will each receive a cash prize of $500.
Contestants must have been born on or after July 1, 2003. There are no residency or citizenship restrictions. All orchestral instruments (strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, keyboard and harp) are eligible.
